Standing Tall

Standing Tall

A few months ago I received a wood sculpture as a Christmas presents. The artist named the sculpture “Standing Tall”. In the words of the artist and friend, Carl Shortt, “It is symbolic of leadership. The wood is rare and seasoned just as true leaders are unique and have skills that take years to develop. The sculpture stands tall and strong and yet is also open, just as leaders must have the strength of their convictions yet also seek answers outside themselves.”

As you can see, it is an out standing sculpture, clean, sleek, smooth, beautiful and very inspiring. I have it sitting on my desk and each day as I write this blog it reminds me of the huge responsibility God has given to me, to glorify Him with my words. To be faithful to the calling He has given me. I have a great opportunity to inspire and encourage you in your faith. I must be Standing Tall.

The 7:14 Journey is a movement that began in the hearts of Mark Batterson and me. Independently we decided to continue the 7:14 Experiment that Mark started for Lent. Last week, Mark and I decided to team up on this project. Using II Chronicles 7:14 as the baseline scripture, we started asking God to give us 500-men and women that will hit their knees daily and pray for their country. Many have signed up.  But, I am no longer praying for 500. The 7:14 Journey has gone world-wide and I am believing God for thousands and thousands to join us. I am believing that this is the start of a world-wide revival.

I am STANDING TALL calling upon you to join us. Calling you to ask your family and friends to join us. If we are serious about our faith and truly want revival in our country in countries around the world then we should sign up and ask our friends to sign up as well.

Will you join us by Standing Tall and joining the 7:14 Journey?  Just email me and say, “yes, I am joining the 7:14 Journey.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.”

Standing Tall,

Ross

Ushered Into The Throne Room

April 13th, 2012

I attended the Annual CBMC – OKC Prayer Breakfast this week. It was fantastic!  The best ever! There were many reasons that I can name but I want to focus on the prayer of Oklahoma Congressman James Lankford.

Congressman Lankford’s prayer was a fantastic model for the 7:14 Journey. He prayed for President Obama, for Vice President Biden, for the Supreme Court, for the Senate and the House, for our military and their families. He reminded us that our hope is not in Government but in GOD!  As if these words were not convicting enough he then said,

“We complain more than we pray about what is happening in our nation.”

You could have heard a pin drop in a room full of about 1,400 people. It was obvious, even to the most casual observer that this man knows God and that he is hitting his knees everyday seeking God’s forgiveness and asking God for direction.

Journey

Have you joined the 7:14 Journey yet? It is not too late to sign up and join hundreds of others that are praying for revival.

April 12th, 2012

Special Announcement: Mark Batterson and I have teamed up on the the 7:14 Journey!

Journey

Mark started the 7:14 Experiment earlier this year and I promoted it in this blog. Many of you signed up. It made a huge difference in my life, in Mark’s life and in most of your hearts. As that Experiment was concluding I felt God laying it on my heart to continue praying for revival. Mark felt similar things. I prayed and prayed about it and decided that I should move forward with the 7:14 Journey. I started promoting the idea and asked for 500-prayer warriors. I shared the idea with Mark and in his words he said, “I love it.” As a result, Mark decided to join me in promoting the 7:14 Journey. Mark is going to give every person signing up to be a prayer warrior his new book The Circle Maker!  This is a New York Times Bestseller and my ALL-TIME favorite book!

So, everyone that signs up will receive his book as a FREE gift! We have individuals from China, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Uganda, Switzerland and the USA praying for revival in their countries. We are starting a WORLD-WIDE REVIVAL. Catch the waive, sign up today and get a FREE copy of The Circle Maker.

Join The Journey

April 10th, 2012

Many signed up for Journey 7:14 today but I am a long way from my goal of 500-prayer warriors praying for revival. One of the interesting things I noticed is that everyone that signed up is from the USA. I say that is interesting because this is read in nearly 90 countries world wide. It made me think how short sighted I have been. It is true that the USA needs revival. But I have traveled a lot over the past 2.5 years and I have discovered that the world is need of revival. So the 7:14 Journey is not just about revival in the USA but it is about a World Wide Revival. A call of all Christians to get on our knees and seek revival in our own hearts and in our own land. So, I am calling everyone world wide to Join the Journey. Please, sign up today by simply hitting the reply button and writing a short email that says, “I am Joining The Journey.”

It could be the most important prayer commitment you ever make. II Chronicles 7:14 is a promise to all the people of God regardless of where they live.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Please Join the Journey and kneel in prayer daily for your nation. We are in desperately in need of revival world wide. It is within our grasps if we will but turn to God. He has promised us that He will heal our land. Let’s do it!

Journey 7:14

April 9th, 2012

I sense a gentle breeze of revival beginning to blow across our nation. Something many of us have been praying for and Experiment 7:14 played a huge part in creating the early gentle breeze of revival. I think The Circle Maker is helping create this breeze as well. I to not only want to keep the breeze blowing but I am praying it turns into a gale force wind! So please join me on what I am now calling Journey 7:14 (formally Experiment 7:14). It starts today. Keep your alarms set for 7:14 a.m. and 7:14 p.m. Keep claiming the promise and keep praying the promise by hitting your knees daily, claiming II Chronicles 7:14, praying for God to move on you and on our nation.

If you are willing to join me on Journey 7:14 send me an email to let me know. I am praying for 500-mighty prayer warriors to join me. Will you be 1 of the 500?

Good Friday

April 7th, 2012

Before you were conceived God knew you. You were not an after thought, a mistake or an accident. You were formed by God Himself. Life is a gift, not so much from your earthly parents as from your heavenly Father. He created you with a purpose in His mind. One purpose you were created for is love. He loves you more than anyone or anything ever could. Another purpose for your life is to be in relationship with Him. It is true, you can love someone that does not love you or acknowledge you, or have anything to do with you. It may not be as easy but you can do it. God does it everyday. But you want to love someone that is in relationship with you. God created you for a relationship with HIM. He wants your love just as He loves you. To do that you have to have a relationship with Him.

Easter is a great time to start or renew a relationship with your Father. It is never too late. Don’t miss the opportunity. Celebrate what Jesus did for you on Good Friday 2000 years ago and Celebrate the Risen Lord on Easter. Go to Church, start or renew your relationship this Easter weekend. God wants you to be part of His life and the life of His bride the Church.

7:14 Experiment Part – 16

April 5th, 2012

If my people will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.

This verse is the theme of the 7:14 Experiment. Many have been hitting knees over the past 37 days circling our lives with this prayer. Claiming this prayer for our country in the hope that revival will start and our country will be healed. I can honestly say that  the 7:14 Experiment has been a huge blessing to me. I plan to continue the experiment. I have never hit my knees so many times in prayer and I have never been closer to God. At times, I felt I was in the thrown room of God Himself. It was amazing to go consistently, humbly to my knees, seek the face of God, confess my sin and ask His forgiveness. It was exciting to pray for revival for our country.

Over this time frame God moved in my life in powerful ways, doors were opened, prayers were answered and I am a changed man. “He is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.” Praise be to God! I am not going to stop, I am going to continue my 7:14 alarms twice a day. Why? Because I love what is happening in my life. I love the faith that has been built, the relationship that has been formed with my Lord. Because, our country needs revival and I want to be part of it. I want to be one of the few but growing number that realize we must seek God to have revival in our land.

From the emails I have received during the 7:14 Experiment, I know the experiment has had a significant impact on your life as well. So, join me on the 7:14 Experiment, join me on what I am now calling the 7:14 Journey.

Being Lovable

April 4th, 2012

I am lovable. I know I am lovable. Ask me if I am lovable, I will tell you, I am! I just told you I am lovable three times. See, I told you I am Lovable.

Most of us, like me, believe we are lovable. Even the individuals I wrote about Monday and Tuesday believe they are lovable. When we look into the mirror, we see our good side and think everyone else does as well. It is painful to stand before the mirror of self examination and search our life for the unlovable acts we all commit. So, most don’t do it.

The truth is, we want to be good, to be liked, to do the right things. Pride and other sin gets in our way. We have a burning desire to be right so, we seldom like to admit we are or were wrong. When we finally admit to being wrong, we quickly justifying our wrong actions with an explanation, as if that makes it all good. That actually makes it worse, our apology becomes hollow.

Another truth is, Being Lovable is difficult, and Being Lovable all of the time is impossible. Why, because we are all sinners. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus died for each one of us that we might have life. Even those of us that have invited Jesus into our lives continue to live in sin. We continue to be difficult to love at times. But praise God, he paid the price of our sin.

Being Lovable, I want to be lovable. I know I should be lovable. Ask me if I am lovable, I will tell you, “I am lovable to Jesus.”
